Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum
The center is comprised of 4 realistic dioramas showcasing different habitats that you could encounter while in Osceola County: swamplands, pine flatwoods, oak hammock, and lakefront. Once you experience each section in person, you’ll see just how much nature and history are tied together in Osceola County.
Each exhibit features an interactive display and scavenger hunts. You can apply what you’ve learned in the museum just steps outside of our building on Shingle Creek and see first hand the wildlife in its natural setting. The Welcome Center and History Museum also offers a multi-purpose room that seats 50 with a mini kitchen. There is also a screened room that over looks the creek and would be great for any outdoor occasion.
The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek
The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek offers Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand-Up Paddle Boards rentals tours and more. We’re conveniently located in Kissimmee, FL just outside of Orlando and minutes from the main gate of major area attractions.
Shingle Creek is headwaters of the Everglades and was recently rated one of the top paddling trails in Florida. We rent single kayaks, 2-person (tandem) kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. The rustic-themed Paddling Center facility includes adjacent hiking and biking trails. Picnic tables are onsite making this a great family or group event location.
Our trained staff is friendly and provides new and novice paddlers the basic paddling skills to enjoy the exceptional natural beauty that is Shingle Creek.
